Look into the mirror of a loving heart and
behold your Self.
Sit with your children in the space of love,
look into their eyes and behold your Self.
Rest in the place of inner stillness and spaciousness,
look around and behold your Self.
Though you've put on the cloaks of anger, impatience,
hunger and disease,
these can never be more than outer coverings.
Your beauty has been hidden at times,
but never sullied.

I've been experimenting with knit and purl and It has been so much fun. The end result is this checkerboard pattern scarf, for Wolfie. I can't wait to finish my other projects.
This is one of those places I love to be. It's my blank canvas just waiting to be painted. It's my creative habitat I hope to cultivate inspiration. Every now and then I share others poetry, others quotes, and others photography of what inspires my every being, with the hope of inspiring you, as well. To do what exactly? Nothing more than to just feel...feel good, feel hope, feel free!
A long time has past since I've written my own poetry, some of which is too dark to share with you. They were written when I was young and went through a phase of everything angst. Yes, I know amazing art, poetry, and music can be created through dark times but I don't feel that inside my soul anymore. There is a zealous light inside me just wanting to be shared with the world.
...My goodness, my heart is pounding as I try to paint a picture for you...I'm not sure why.
I'm not claiming to be a scholar of literature, fine art, dance or music...just someone who once loved to express emotion through creative channels, whether someone liked it or not. It's been so long since this part of me has risen. With not one ounce of regret, the past nine years, my mind and spirit have been solely devoted to my family. How do I go from creating for my family to creating for myself? I almost don't even know where to begin. Thank you for giving me a moment of your time and allowing me to just be.
Full of color, yards of magic abound;
In baskets, boxes and trees all around.
Such a feeling I have never enough.
Do I imply that I could need more stuff?
Two or three more cones or skeins wouldn’t hurt,
Not like taking huge helpings of dessert.
Without touching its lingering fine thread
Wonder escapes me in this late, late hour;
My imagination a lifeless flower.
Like a Greek daughter presiding over art,
Morpheus releases my memory,
Spinning my threads like thunderbolts in parts.
But it is not the needles I seek out,
Only the yarn that I have dreamt about.

When Cindy Spence, of Saratoga Needle Arts, announced she was closing her knitting shop many of us were disappointed. Don't be too sad because from the sound of it she has been looking for a new adventure. They will officially be closed Monday, January 24th and invite you fellow knitters to join them between 5-6 pm for a farewell glass of wine.
I know...very sad...but all good things do not have to come to an end. According to Cindy the business has been sold and will remain in Saratoga Springs. She will be helping the new owner get set up until May. Cindy, wasn't able to state any more until the actual closing but she did say, "The new owner is SOOO cool, she's got great ideas and energy and I'll be backing her up and giving her 100%." Sounds wonderful! I wish Cindy the best on her new journey and I'm also excited the shop will stay in town.
On another note...January 24, 10:00 am, Foster Sheep Farm will be giving their sheep their annual haircuts and invite the public to the Shearing Day Open House. They will be busy in the barn sorting the wool as it comes off the sheep. Its a great chance for spinners to grab the fleece they want before anyone else gets to see it!! The farmhouse will also be open. Stop in to get a hot drink and see all of the wool made available to you as roving, or yarn by local artists.
Hubby and Wolfgang spent this particular day ice fishing with some buddies. It was quite the experience for wolfie. Don't worry he wasn't drilling.
He was taught how to drill and clean the hole and drop the line. After that they pretty much just wait for the fish to bite.
Wolfie, found ways to keep himself busy. Here he made a giant ice snowman. There was also rough housing between him and the older boys, of course.
He ate many snacks and drank a lot of hot chocolate.
Alas! They caught a fish! He's a natural ice fisher - capable of withstanding the cold and dealing with the MANY hours of waiting for a fish to be caught.
Ah yes, he came home with very cold cheeks, one wet foot that got caught in a fishing hole, and many wonderful stories about his first ice fishing trip.

Day 6: Today was a lot easier than yesterday. I feel great and I'm enjoying my shakes and look forward to the rest of my cleanse.
Day 7: All is going well. I got creative with my shake and added a few strawberries, half of a banana and a few blueberries. The shake was great! And I felt very full. I did crave something sweet but I took care of that with the Isagenix Snacks. For dinner Salmon, fresh green beans and a huge salad. This is what I intended to eat as soon I finished typing this post but my husband suggested we go out for dinner. I ordered mini shrimp tacos, thinking it would be a safe meal. When the plate was placed in front of me I noticed they were fried. Just eating one made me feel sick. My husband ate the rest of them. I ended up having one of his mini burgers. It was very good but my stomach didn't feel so good when I got home. It felt the same when I woke up in the morning and my body immediately rejected it. Lesson learned...don't put junk in my body. I'll stick to the healthy food.
Tomorrow I begin my last two cleanse days.
